The easy going Barnes, a likable politician by most standards, and one with strong values and a strong sense of community who is not afraid to say he is Black but also supports diversity across the board, is the older of two sons of former Cleveland councilman John E. Barnes Sr., who, along with his mother, instilled in him the value of service to others above one’s self.
"It is in this virtue," says Barnes Jr., "that is the foundation of our campaign, a grassroots campaign focused on public policy measures for the betterment of Ohians."
