Emilia Sykes (OH-13) issued a statement on Wednesday after a Hamilton County common pleas judge issued a preliminary injunction that will temporarily block enforcement of Ohio laws banning use of telemedicine in medication abortions, and prohibiting certified nurse midwives, physician assistants and other non-physician medical professionals from prescribing medication abortion pills. Sykes is an Akron Democrat and one of three Black women in Congress from Ohio. She is also a former minority leader of the Ohio House of Representatives.
