Grammy winning Black R&B artists Janet Jackson (left) and Chaka Khan were among 15 nominees, either by consideration as a group or individual, slated for possible induction in 2016 to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a landmark music history museum located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. But they were snubbed  as were Black artists in general, and women were snubbed entirely. A third of the 15 nominees were Black and also include the Spinners, Chic, and N.W.A. , the only Black group to win induction this year along with Whites of Steve Miller, Deep Purple, Cheap Trick, and Chicago N.W.A.,  an abbreviation of  Niggaz Wit Attitudes,  was an American  hip hop  gangsta rap group out of  Compton, California  that had its heyday during the mid 80s and early 90s The band  'Chicago,' a rock band founded in 1957 that also has a Black following Deep Purple, a popular heavy metal and modern hard rock band founded in Hereford, England in 1968
