CLEVELANDURBANNEWS.COM-CLEVELAND, Ohio-The Cleveland Cavaliers, led by megastar LeBron James, beat the Indiana Pacers 105-101 in a contentious Game 7 at Quicken Loans Arena Sunday afternoon, the Cavaliers advancing to the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference against the Toronto Raptors with Game 1 of Round 2 starting Tuesday.
Sunday's game was do or die, the Cavs and Pacers tied 3-3 leading up to the tie-breaker finale that sent the Pacers packing.
James scored an impressive 45 points and delivered an outstanding Game 7 performance before Cleveland fans who want the NBA basketball legend to stay in Cleveland when he becomes a free agent next year.
The Cavs led the Pacers by two at the beginning of the fourth quarter in spite of an early-on 14-point lead that ultimately diminished, and they held on to the finish, the Pacers up by two at one point in the third quarter.
The 33- year-old James, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest NBA players of all time, has "won three NBA championships, four NBA Most Valuable Player Awards, three NBA Finals MVP Awards, three NBA All-Star Game MVP Awards, two Olympic gold medals, an NBA scoring title, and the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. James is a 14-time NBA All-Star, 11-time All-NBA first teamer, and five-time All-Defensive first teamer."
James is "the Cavaliers' all-time scoring leader, the NBA All-Star Game career scoring leader, and the NBA career playoff scoring leader."
