Cleveland Plain Dealer Newspaper, Cleveland activists endorse Democratic Judge Melody Stewart for the Ohio Supreme Court, which is currently all -White and all-Republican....."It's long over due that a qualified Black is elected to Ohio' s highest court," said activist Ada Averyhart, 84...."We have researched this issue and Judge Melody Stewart, who is Black and scholarly, has a judicial record of fairness and competence on the bench," said Cleveland activist Kathy Wray Coleman. "We support her bid for the Ohio Supreme Court without reservation and if she wins she would become the first Black elected to the Ohio Supreme Court".... Bill Patmon, Sandra Williams has drawn two well-known Democratic primary challengers as she seeks re-election in Ohio Senate District 21. Both Johnson and Patmon were unsuccessful candidates for Cleveland mayor last year. Willie Lewis Britt, 69, an electrician and perennial candidate, also is on the ballot. All live in Cleveland.
