Updated: Cuyahoga County Sheriff Bob Reid is fired by Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald after complaints of mortgage and foreclosure fraud against Cuyahoga County homeowners by Chase Bank, Bricker and Eckler law firm, others, Former Cleveland NAACP President George Forbes, Black elected officials, the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Call and Post Newspapers have remained silent on the foreclosure fraud issue in spite of data relative to alleged impropriety by Reid and several Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas judges and magistrates such as Judges John O'Donnell and Carolyn Friedland and Foreclosure Chief Magistrate Stephen Bucha, 1 in 390 homes in Cuyahoga County in 2012 resulted in foreclosure filings and majority Black Cuyahoga County communities like Cleveland and Maple Hts are among those hit the hardest by the foreclosure crisis but Cleveland Hts., Shaker Hts. and University Hts have been affected too, current county prosecutor Tim McGinty is being watched to see if he investigates mortgage, foreclosure fraud ignored by predecessor Bill Mason
Cuyahoga County Sheriff Bob Reid, whom Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald fired on Thursday via his forced resignation. Reid's firing follows complaints of mortgage and foreclosure fraud allegedly involving Reid himself, a wealth of mortgage companies and banks such as J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, Bricker and Eckler law firm, and several of the majority White 34 judges of the general division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, which is led by Presiding and Administrative Judge Nancy Fuerst. A number of county foreclosure magistrates, including Chief Foreclosure Magistrate Stephen Bucha, are also involved with the alleged impopriety, data show.
