Other Democratic contenders include attorneys Lori Anne Dyke, Margaret Gardner, and Robert Shea, and Michael T. Fisher, an assistant attorney general. The winner will face Republican Brian Moriarty in the Nov. general election. Suster is also endorsed by the Norman Minor Bar Association, a venue of Black attorneys of the Cleveland Metropolitan area. But some Blacks say Strickland Saffold's removal from the case may have been motivated by politics, racism, and undue influence of top officials of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Ohio's largest newspaper. Ted Strickland has appointed Franklin County Probate Judge Eric Brown, effective May 3, to replace Republican Ted Moyer, who died unexpectedly last week, as Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court.
