The Rev. Ralph David Abernathy III, a former Georgia state legislator, Civil Rights leader, community activists, motivational speaker and a son of the late Rev. Ralph D. Abernathy Sr. who died March 17 after a brave battle with colon cancer. His father was a partner of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr during the Civil Rights Movement of the 50s and 60s who assumed the leadership role of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference after the assassination of King in 1968.  The Rev.
