Cleveland Browns hire Kevin Stefanski as head coach to replace the fired Freddie Kitchens

CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Cleveland Browns have hired 37-year-old Kevin Stefanski to replace the fired Freddie Kitchens, a one season coach who, in mid-season last year, replaced the fired Hue Jackson, who is Black.


A string of probable replacements were considered, and, among others, the Browns also interviewed Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels,  and San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who is Arab-American.

 A native of Philadelphia, Stefanski joined the Minnesota Vikings in 2006 as an assistant to former head coach Brad Childress.
In 2017, after the termination of Scott Turner, Stefanski was promoted to coach the Vikings quarterbacks, where he helped transform the Vikings into the NFL's 10th-highest scoring offense. Quarterback Case Keenum had his best season under Stefanski, throwing 22 touchdown passes and only seven interceptions. He previously worked with the running backs in 2016 and the tight ends in 2014 and 2015.
After the 2017 season, the New York Giants requested to interview and hire Stefanski as their new offensive coordinator, but Vikings denied the request.

After offensive coordinator John DeFilippo was fired following a 21–7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Stefanski was named interim offensive coordinator.
On January 9, 2019, Stefanski was promoted to full-time offensive coordinator.

He signed with the Browns on Jan 13.

Ousted University Heights Mayor Susan Infeld, whom voters booted out of office Tuesday evening following claims of racism against Black residents, and alleged theft in office, and because she is running a theft ring in the city of illegal foreclosures on the homes of Cuyahoga County residents along with a corrupt and racist police department that she leads as safety director.
