CLEVELAND, Ohio—After winning Game 1 on Sunday and Game 2 on Wednesday, the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Miami Heat 124-87 Sarurday afternoon and won Game 3 of the 2025 Eastern Conference playoffs at the Kaseya Center arena in Miami, Florida, a best-of-seven-games series leading up to the Eastern Conference Finals, and ultimately the NBA Finals. 

Led by head coach Kenny Atkinson, the Cavaliers have their eyes on the NBA Championship trophy, and so do Cleveland fans, Cleveland a largely Black major American city and the second largest city in Ohio, behind Columbus, the state capital.

Tall forward Evan Mobley, the defensive player of the year for the NBA, scored 19 points for his team on Saturday, following Jarrett Allen, who led the Cavs with 22 points. Max Strus scored 18 and Donovan Mitchell and Ty Jerome posted 13 points apiece.

"We just came out with energy, and everyone stepped up," Mobley, 23, told reporters after Saturday's game. He added that "we have to play harder for the next one" in referencing Game 4, which is live or die for Miami with the series now 3-0 in favor of the Cavs. 

Game 4 is Mon., April 28 in Miami. 

Cleveland has not won an NBA championship since 2016, when megastar LeBron James, who now plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, was a team member.
