Community activists will stage a protest in front of the home of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson at 3 pm on Sat., Sept. 25 to call on the mayor to stand up and speak out as to the disenfranchisement of Blacks and women via alleged police misconduct and malicious prosecutions by Cleveland City Law Director Robert Triozzi, and the absence of Blacks and women from his appointed law enforcement leadership team where he has appointed no Blacks or women as law director, safety director, chief of police, chief prosecutor or EMS commissioner. (Note: When the mayor was questioned by Black leaders some five years ago when he took office as to the lack of diversity as to his law enforcement leadership team he said that he chose the "best qualified." Last year the remains of 11 Black women were found on Imperial Ave. in Cleveland at the home of suspected serial killer Anthony Sowell, six of whom died after the alleged serial killer was released from custody on an attempted rape complaint deemed not credible. This activity occurred at the hands of Jackson's so-called "qualified" law enforcement leadership team).
The protest is sponsored by the Oppressed People's Nation and the Imperial Women in cooperation with other grassroots factions and Civil Rights affiliates and shall be led by Journalist Kathy Wray Coleman of the Imperial Women, Ernest Smith of the Oppressed People's Nation, Don Bryant of the People's Forum and the Greater Cleveland Immigrant Support Network and Tina Bronaugh, mother of the Collinwood High School teens facing trial via bogus criminal charges by the City of Cleveland and the State of Ohio in alleged retaliation for a student organized protest at the school in May as to teacher layoffs and the closings of 14 district schools.
The protest will address the following:
- The mayor's refusal to speak out as to the city's malicious prosecution of recent Black college graduates and other Blacks allegedly harassed by police at bar locations in the warehouse district and the flats, and then prosecuted by the City of Cleveland at the hands of Triozzi with the sanctioning of the mayor (Note: The Cleveland Chapter of the NAACP and some Black officials have spoken up and we would ask that they speak up as to the harassment of Black women as noted hereinafter).
-The mayor's refusal to initiate an investigation as to the release of alleged serial killer Anthony Sowell in 2008 in spite of probable cause as to an attempted rape complaint by a credible Black women where six of the 11 murdered women of Imperial Avenue were murdered thereafter (The mayor says the investigation will be some 20 years from now after any conviction and appeals by Sowell as a means to cover up malfeasance around the issue)
-The mayor's refusal to diversify his law enforcement leadership team even in the midst of obvious incompetence where he has no Blacks or women as law director, safety director, chief of police, chief prosecutor and EMS commissioner in a city that is largely Black and majority female
-The mayor's actions in allowing Cleveland Law Director Robert Triozzi to maliciously prosecute innocent Black female Cleveland schools student Destini Bronaugh on behalf of the city in retaliation for a peaceful student protest on May 13, 2010 around teacher layoffs and school closings (Note: Destini Bronaugh graduated from high school this past summer. The Bronaugh family is under pressure to back off its request for removal of Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Kathleen Ann Keough from the case where she is friends with former Cleveland judge and now law director Triozzi who is also Keough's lawyer in appellate proceedings when she is sued for blatantly violating the law to harass Blacks and women).
-The mayor's refusal to initiate an investigation around the Rebecca Whitby cases as to allegations that the young college student was beat up by an all White group of Cleveland Fifth District police officers and called a "nigger" and her mother was harassed. Both are awaiting trial on bogus charges that include assault on the White male police officers in question (Cleveland is not "Mississippi Burning")
-The refusal of the mayor to direct Cleveland Law Director Robert Triozzi to dismiss the illegal resisting arrest verdict against Journalist Kathy Wray Coleman where sole arresting White male peace officer Gerald Pace did not accuse her of it or testify and she has been denied her right to confrontation under the Sixth Amendment of the United States Constitution (Note: Unfair Judge Keough orchestrated the illegal verdict with illegal trial activity and seeks to sentence and jail Coleman illegally in exchange for the endorsement from Jackson for her current run for a seat on the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals. Coleman is being harassed for 38 articles written by the journalist and published in the Call and Post Newspap in 2008when the prosecution was initiated, her activism, and her writings in http://determinerweekly.com/ and http://www.kathywraycolemanonlinenewsblogandmedianetwork.com/. If Judge Keough can get away with unconstitutionally sentencing Black women, Black journalists and Black activists for allegedly resisting arrest without a complaint or trial testimony of the arresting officer, she can do in young Black males and others without consequences in exchange for more endorsements from Jackson, who would not endorse any Blacks seeking judgeships this year).
-The mayor's ongoing refusal to speak up as to the malicious mistreatment of Blacks, women and others, including relative to alleged police brutality and malicious prosecutions by Triozzi, who usurps the role of the chief prosecutor via his zeal to allegedly destroy innocent Black women and Black men, often with Judge Keough's help (Note: Judge Keough is a volunteer over the Cleveland Municipal Court Psychiatric Clinic where she illegally diagnoses Blacks and allegedly uses the forum to harass political enemies and other nemesis of Jackson, Triozzi, and others)
