"Everybody is invited during this crucial time in the Black community regarding public policy issues at the national level, the attack on Civil Rights, and repeated efforts to disenfranchise the Black vote statewide and nationally," said McCoy, also a community activist.
NAN'S Midwest region, she said, includes some 11 states and its regional executive director is the Rev. Charles Williams of Detroit, Michigan, who will also attend.
Williams is senior pastor at the historic Solomon Baptist Church in Detroit.

The keynote speaker for the noon luncheon on Sept 27 is Mark Thompson.
Former state representative Alicia Reese will moderate the town hall and the Rev. Dr. Otis Moss Jr., pastor emeritus at the prominent Olivet Institutional Baptist Church in Cleveland, is also among the speakers.
The Midwest Conference forum in Cleveland is titled "Ballots, Bullets, and Bank Accounts" and will bring together NAN chapters from across the Midwest to discuss gun violence, voting, and economic and social justice issues plaguing the Black community.
"Ballots, Bullets and Bank Accounts will address voting rights and empowerment, urban violence, and economic growth," said Sharpton, likely the nation's most prominent Civil Rights activist and a MSNBC talk-show contributor who ran for president in 2004.
Attendees will include community activists, politicians, educators and clergy.
Also included, said organizers, will be panel discussions, family-style meals, and a church service at Greater Abyssinia.
