According to the Black and Missing Foundation, more that 64,000 black women and girls were missing nationwide in 2014, some found, others of whom remain missing to date.
Statistics since then show similar results as to the epidemic of missing Black women and girls nationwide.
Research from various journals and other sources, including Media Psychology, and Oxford University, reveals that Black missing children and female missing children are significantly underrepresented in television news coverage.
Part of the problem, the research argues, is a lack of newsroom diversity, media and gender bias, and commercial motives.
