CLEVELAND URBAN NEWS-COM, CLEVELAND Ohio- A White Euclid police officer 
who unmercifully beat a young Black man following a traffic stop that was caught on video has been fired by the city's mayor, Kirstin Gail.

Officer Michael Amiott, on Aug. 12 of this year, beat Black motorist Richard Hubbard, 25, whom police said had a suspended driver's license.

 The video of that incident went viral and community activists, led by Black Lives Matter, shut down a city council meeting over the controversial issue that has increased tensions in the middle class Cleveland suburb.



It was a routine traffic stop, police said of Hubbard's beating, ignoring the fact that the Black young man was beaten to a pulp, his face bruised, and swollen.

Amiott had been suspended without pay pending the outcome of external and internal proceedings, is seen on the dash cam punching Hubbard several times while he was on the ground, with his partner and other witnesses watching.



Hubbard was arrested and taken to the Cuyahoga County Jail and ultimately posted bond on charges of driving under suspension and resisting arrest, charges he denies.


He now says he fears police.

In March a Euclid cop killed 23-year-old Luke Stewart in conjuction with a traffic stop altercation, Stewart's family recently filing a wrongful death and excessive force lawsuit.
