Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Wanda Jones, Cleveland Ward 1 Councilman Joe Jones and Cincinnatti Councilwoman Chelsea Clark, the Democratic nominee for Ohio secretary of state, were also among the speakers 

 CLEVELAND,Ohio-Women's March Cleveland held a rally and march at Market Square Park On Sat.,  Oct 8 in the Ohio City neighborhood near downtown Cleveland that drew hundreds, one of several sister marches held nationwide for women's rights and Civil Rights as the November midterm elections are less than a month away.

Cleveland had the only successful march in Ohio and was the only march in the state to get both pre and post mainstream and other media coverage

 

Abortion access and voting and Civil Rights were the primary focus of the event, as were rape, murder and violence against women in general, not to mention racism, sexism, education, jobs, climate change, immigration and police reform, and equal pay. Getting pro choice candidates elected to office was also addressed at the rally and march, both of which were  organized by Cleveland  activist Kathy Wray Coleman.

Cleveland's march was the  largest of the 16 marches in Ohio  and was Women's March Cleveland's 17th march since the group was formed in 2017 along with the national and other local women's march groups to take to the streets with millions behind the 2017 inauguration of then president Donald Trump.

 

The reproductive rights march sponsored by Women's March National in Washington D.C., which was also held on Oct 8,  drew hundreds to Folger Park in the city.
