CLEVELAND, Ohio– The Cleveland Browns took on the Kansas City Chiefs in 90 degrees weather in a rematch of the 2020 AFC Divisional Round on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, and though leading throughout the first three quarters they lost 33-29 after Browns Quarterback Baker Mayfield threw an interception with 1:09 on the clock in the fourth quarter.

The first touchdown of the regular season came from tailback Nick Chubb, who completed two touchdowns for the Browns on Sunday. Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes brought in the first touchdown of the game for his team, who trailed until the fourth quarter.

Jarvis Landry made a 5-yard run into the end-zone, widening the Browns’ lead and, give or take a few plays in between by the Chiefs, coupled with second half mistakes by the Browns, a two-yard touch down in the fourth quarter by Kareem Hunt brought the Browns' lead to to 29, their largest lead of the day.

Wide receiver Tyreek Hill's 75-yard touchdown brought the Chiefs to within 29-27 in the fourth quarter and an eight-yard touch down pass from Maholmes to Travis Kelce gave the Chiefs a 33-29 lead that ultimately brought home a glorifying win.

The Chiefs overcame deficits of 15-3, 22-10 and 29-20 to win a regular season game.

Mahomes completed 27 of 36 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns.

The Browns led by 12 points twice in the game, and still lost, with Mayfield completing 21-of-28 passes for 321 yards and an interception against the defending AFC champion

Sunday's loss was heart-wrenching for Browns fans, but not all that surprising.

The Browns lost 22-17 to the Chiefs to end last year's season after making the playoffs for the first time in 18 years, and the Chiefs, who were the No one seed, went on to lose to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at last year's Superbowl.

The Browns will play the  Houston Texans at 1 pm on Sun, Sept 19 at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland for their second game of the regular NFL season.
