Cleveland Heights Municipal Court Judge A. Deane Buchanan |
Data show that White cops there are following Black activists in cars and arresting them without probable cause or reasonable suspicion and then the judge there, A. Deane Buchanan, is denying them indigent counsel at the arraignment stage and sometimes otherwise, and, sometimes a speedy trial. He is also getting them alone and asking them to plead guilty, which is unethical under the Ohio Lawyer's Professional Code of Responsibility and the Judicial Code of Conduct.
The misdemeanor charges are frivolous such as obstruction of official business for allegedly not giving a name as a passenger following a racially profiled police harassment traffic stop. And Buchanan is perpetuating the alleged harassment with police and city prosecutors, public records reveal.
Cleveland Heights is a middle class Cleveland suburb that is roughly 45 percent Black, though Blacks are disproportionately arrested, charged, maliciously prosecuted and jailed, public records reveal.
Blacks in general are subjected to excessive bonds and gross misrepresentation with the judge's approval.
Several of the appointed lawyers, including J. Alex Morton (Phone No. 1-440-488-0333), are also harassing Blacks and Black activists, saying just plead guilty, race matters too much for you, I hate Obama, and that "they all are guilty." Morton also said in open court that he will not move to dismiss cases on speedy trial grounds that have merit for dismissal because he does not want to offend Buchanan, who is seemingly pro-cop and anti-Black.
Dash cams of police racial profiling and illegal arrests by corrupt White cops are being withheld from discovery by racist and corrupt city prosecutors in collusion with corrupt appointed attorneys like Morton, data show.
We will give the time and date by the end of this week and after community activists meet again on this issue. Meanwhile, call the Imperial Women Coalition at 216-659-0473 or Black on Black Crime President Al Porter at 216-804-7462 for more information.
Community activists also want a U.S. Department of Justice investigation for police reforms in suburban Cuyahoga County, Ohio's largest of 88 counties and of which includes Cleveland where a consent decree for police reforms is currently underway.
