CLEVELAND URBAN NEWS.COM-WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch, the nation's first Black female attorney general,  announced Wednesday that Hillary Clinton, a former secretary of state under the Obama administration and the presumptive presidential nominee for the Democratic Party, will not be charged relative to the email scandal that has engulfed her campaign.

Lynch accepted the FBI's recommendation, which calls for no charges against anyone, a determination that also clears a host of others not yet under investigation, including some Republican top;level officials with the Bush administration that, like Clinton, purportedly utilized private email servers per the approval of federal authorities.

“I received and accepted their unanimous recommendation that the thorough, year-long investigation be closed and that no charges be brought against any individuals within the scope of the investigation,” said Lynch.

The decision to clear Clinton comes as a blow to the Donald Trump campaign as he and Clinton are in a close race, though polls have her roughly 5 percentage points ahead of the business mogul and presumptive nominee for the Republican Party.

Some demonstrators slated to protest at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland the week of July 18-21 say they are pleased that they can move forward without any confounding variables as to the email controversy.

"We are pleased that we can open the official RNC protest stage in Cleveland the morning of July 18 on Public Square void of any interference that precludes substantive responses to our reasonable demands to Mr. Trump and the Republicans to address the epidemic of violence against women nationwide and internationally, as well as the ongoing inequities that women, Black women in particular, face on a daily basis in practically every arena," said greater Cleveland community activist Kathy Wray Coleman, who leads the grassroots group the Imperial Women Coalition and will open the protest forum the morning of July 18 at 9:30 am along with other greater Cleveland activists, elected officials, victims of crime and family members of victims of crime, and the Ohio Chapter National Organization for Women.
