CLEVELAND, Ohio- Nominations for Democratic National Convention (DNC) delegates representing Ohio's 11th congressional  district, which includes Cleveland and is led by Rep. Shontel Brown, will be taken on Tuesday., Jan 9, 2024 at the Cleveland Public main library in downtown Cleveland . Doors open at 6pm and voting will take place at 7pm. DNC delegates help nominate the Democratic candidate for president, which is likely President Joe Biden, who is seeking reelection as former President Donald Trump remains the front-runner for the Republican nomination.  A total of 83 district delegates from Ohio and eight district alternates will be elected to represent Ohio at the 2024 DNC, in addition to at-large delegates and others representing the Ohio Democratic Party. By Kathy Wray Coleman, editor WASHINGTON, D.C. - The US Supreme Court has agreed to hear former President Donald Trump's 14th Amendment case out of Colorado as the 2024 presidential election nears, setting oral arguments in the case for early February. Last week Trump was  booted from another state primary ballot following a ruling a week prior by the Colorado Supreme Court that says his candidacy in the state's primary this year is prohibited on constitutional grounds. The second disqualification event was initiated with the state of Maine  at the helm and state officials there, specifically Secretary of State Sheena Bellows, say he engaged in insurrection and that such behavior disqualify's him from seeking the presidency for a third time. Her decision to remove the former president's name from the ballot following administrative review, which is permitted under state law, is on hold pending an appeal. Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb                      CLEVELAND, Ohio —  Cleveland   Mayor Justin M. Bibb and Police Chief Wayne Drummond this week announced the results of "Operation Clean Sweep" – a multi-week operation aimed at removing individuals wanted for violent and other crimes from the streets of Cleveland .   The Cleveland Division of Police  partnered with multiple local, state, and federal agencies including US Marshals and the office of the Cuyahoga County sheriff, to arrest 56 individuals, ages 15 to 63, with felony  warrants  throughout the  City .
