Clevelandurbannews.com and   Kathywraycolemanonlinenewsblog.com By Kathy Wray Coleman, editor, associate publisher CLEVELAND, Ohio — After losing Games 1 on Sunday, the Cleveland Cavaliers fail to the Indiana Pacers 120-119 Tuesday night at the the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse arena in downtown Cleveland and lost Game 2 of Round 2 of the 2025 Eastern Conference Playoffs, a best-of-seven-games series leading up to their quest to win the Conference Finals and, ultimately,  the NBA Finals.   The Cavs led throughout the game, primarily, and by as much as 14 points during the first quarter. But they could not hold off the Pacers overall, losing in a fourth-quarter stunner by one point. By Kathy Wray Coleman, associate publisher, editor-in-chief CLEVELANDURBANNEWS.COM, LOUISVILLE, Kentucky- Thousands of Derby fans gathered at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday with post time for the 151st Derby at 7pm. Ridden by jockey Jurior Alvarado,   Sovereignty won the 151th running of the Kentucky Derby on a muddy racetrack, winning the first leg of the coveted Triple Crown.    The Bill Mott-trained horse won with a time of 2:02.31 after closing at 7-1 odds, with race favorite Journalism placing and late entry Baeza showing. Suspended East Cleveland Mayor Brandon King Clevelandurbannews.com and   Kathywraycolemanonlinenewsblog.com   By Kathy Wray Coleman, editor, associate publisher EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio-  The public corruption trial of suspended East Cleveland Mayor Brandon King, who is Black, has been delayed amid claims of bias and prejudice by the presiding judge over the case, Hollie Gallagher, one of 34 largely White judges in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas general division court. King's Black defense attorney, Charles Tyler, filed an affidavit of disqualification against Gallagher with a trial date originally set for this week, seeking her removal from the case. It, via an amended filing, awaits a determination by Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon Kennedy on the matter. Per state law, Kennedy, as chief justice, has the authority to remove lower court judges in Ohio from cases for conflict or bias, or other reasons, including municipal, common pleas and state appellate ...
