Cleveland Black contractors rally in April shortly before Cleveland City Council seals funding for the Q- Deal with its contribution of $88 million toward a $282 million project to renovate the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio that houses the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA basketball team. While the Black contractors were happy with the deal that Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish, Mayor Frank Jackson and City Council President Kevin Kelley say will benefit the city and the county, community activists in general , some members of Cleveland City Council, and others,  led by the Cuyahoga County Progressive Caucus, SEIU, and the Greater Cleveland Congregations, called the Q-Deal a raw deal that has few consessions to benefit the inner city of Cleveland and poor people, among others.
