CLEVELAND URBAN NEWS.COM-WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch, the nation's first Black female attorney general,  announced Wednesday that Hillary Clinton, a former secretary of state under the Obama administration and the presumptive presidential nominee for the Democratic Party, will not be charged relative to the email scandal that has engulfed her campaign.

Lynch accepted the FBI's recommendation, which calls for no charges against anyone, a determination that also clears a host of others not yet under investigation, including some Republican top;level officials with the Bush administration that, like Clinton, purportedly utilized private email servers per the approval of federal authorities.

“I received and accepted their unanimous recommendation that the thorough, year-long investigation be closed and that no charges be brought against any individuals within the scope of the investigation,” said Lynch.

The decision to clear Clinton comes as a blow to the Donald Trump campaign as he and Clinton are in a close race, though polls have her roughly 5 percentage points ahead of the business mogul and presumptive nominee for the Republican Party.

Some demonstrators slated to protest at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland the week of July 18-21 say they are pleased that they can move forward without any confounding variables as to the email controversy.
