CLEVELAND, Ohio-The Greater Cleveland Committee for Community Empowerment and Educational Progress will host a community event at Pulaski Park in Ward 7 on Cleveland's east side at noon on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 to remember Darron Overby. 

Overby, 28,  died on Sept 17 at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio after falling into a coma after he allegedly collapsed while playing basketball.

Funeral services were held on Sept 26 at E.F. Boyd and Son Funeral Home on Sept 26.

"Darron was an avid basketball player, so we will host a basketball game at Pulaski Park on Saturday in his honor," said Alethea Thomas, a key organizer of the event along with, Erica Robinson. 

Thomas said that food will be served and donations will be accepted for the Overby family.
