CLEVELAND, Ohio- The housing committee of the
Cleveland Chapter NAACP will take testimony for the NAACP in efforts to promote state and federal legislation to address the problems of  housing discrimination, foreclosures, mortgage impropriety and the abundance of abandoned homes that draw crime and heightened violence against women of greater Cleveland and elsewhere. The open-to-the-public meeting in which all community members that want to listen in or testify are invited, particularly victims and their family members, is at 5:00 pm on Monday, March 31, 2014, at the west side Cleveland headquarters of The Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign at 3500 Loraine Ave at East 35th St and Fulton Road in Cleveland in the basement of the Fifth Third Bank Building. For more information contact the Cleveland Chapter NAACP at 216-231-6260, The Imperial Women Activists Group at 216-659-0473, The Northeast Ohio Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign at 216-651-2606, and Bright Star Missionary Baptist Church at 216-249-5213.

The meeting is a follow up to the Cleveland NAACP Housing Committee meeting earlier this year that drew nearly 60 people including John Hairston  as executive director from the office of Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge, Stephen Caviness, also from Fudge's office, and Nick Turner, a representative on mortgage and foreclosures from the office of Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur. Representatives of  Fudge will also be on hand at the testimony session, organizers said. Fudge and Kaptur, along with Congressman Dave Joyce, have proposed The Restore Our Neighborhoods Act of 2013 that provides federal monies to tear down blighted abandoned and foreclosed homes.

Monday's upcoming event marks the second time this year for the aforementioned testimony and will include victims of illegal foreclosures, community activists and Black elected officials. Also discussed will be the Cleveland Opportunity Corridor (city highway or thoroughfare) issue and tips on how to minimize foreclosure impropriety by Cuyahoga County officials and judges, and big banks and mortgage companies such as JPMorgan Chase Bank, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America.

A videographer secured by Cleveland NAACP will be present and everyone is invited said Cleveland NAACP Housing Committee Chairperson the Rev. Dr. David Hunter, senior pastor at Bright Star and president of the Baptist Ministers Alliance.

The Cleveland NAACP is led by the Rev Hilton Smith, an associate minister at Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church in Cleveland and a community relations vice president for Turner Construction Company. Sheila Wright is the local chapter's executive director.

Participating grassroots activists groups or some of their group members include the Imperial Women Activists Group, the Carl Stokes Brigade, Communities United, and the Cleveland African-American Museum.

Ohio Supreme Court strips chief Cuyahoga County judge of power: Chief and unfair Cuyahoga County Judge John Russo loses authority-Part 2 of a multi-part series on Cuyahoga County public corruption: New Ohio law on seeking possible removal of a municipal court judge in a case for bias or conflict via the filing of an affidavit of prejudice takes authority to decide from chief Cuyahoga County Presiding and Administrative Judge John Russo, other chief common pleas judges in Ohio, and hands it to the chief justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, who also determines affidavits of prejudice filed against common pleas, probate, juvenile, domestic relations, and state appellate court judges....Most affidavits of prejudice are denied regardless of the merits and some judges complained of will retaliate, data show... Community activists, led by Cleveland activist Kathy Wray Coleman of the Imperial Women Coalition, lobbied the Cleveland NAACP for support and asked state legislators via state Rep Bill Patmon (D-10) of Cleveland to change the law but wanted a panel of judges and others to decide when a judge in Ohio is disqualified from hearing a case for bias or conflict....Coleman says she has since been further harassed by Chief Cuyahoga County Judge John Russo, who is White and leads a racist and sexist common pleas court fueled with corruption, malicious prosecutions, excessive criminal bonds, ineffective assistance of counsel to poor and Black defendants, and the mass incarceration of the Black community....By www.clevelandurbannews.com and www.kathywraycolemanonlinenewsblog.com, Ohio's most read digital Black newspapers....This is part 2 of a multi-part series on Cuyahoga County public corruption

Public Corruption: Cuyahoga County Judge Nancy Margaret Russo is illegally releasing secret grand jury testimony of corrupt White cops to try to intimidate maliciously indicted Blacks into plea deals with the help of the county public defender's office, and covering up public corruption regarding falsification of public case records of felony cases in her court, falsification by prosecutors, County Clerk of Courts Nailah Byrd and fellow judges such as Common Pleas Judge Joe Russo.....Judge Nancy Russo is also refusing to remove indigent counsel such as Scott Roger Hurley who are accused of colluding with the court and the prosecution against Black defendants, even when such indigent counsel, including Hurley, an assistant county public defender, violate her own court orders for discovery and to conduct proper pretrial investigations for their clients....The cases involve false charges of assault by Blacks on corrupt White cops, indictment fixing covered-up by Judge Nancy Russo, etc..... Also at issue is foreclosure theft by the judges with JPMorgan Chase Bank and other banks and mortgage companies, hundreds and thousands of homes stolen and Blacks and others who complain sometimes maliciously indicted....Judge Nancy Margaret Russo's corruption comes less than 3 weeks after an FBI and IRS raid on Cleveland City Hall and as to a continuing FBI county corruption probe that has netted some 61 guilty pleas and convictions, including two former common pleas judges and two former county elected officials....
